A Hispanic Youth Congress at St. Patrick Parish, Walla Walla, drew some 233 youth from throughout the region Friday and Saturday, March 30-31.
Youth from Walla Walla, Pasco, Connell, Othello, Cheney, Spokane, Okanogan, Omak, and Brewster attended.
Main presenters for were Mr. and Mrs. Santillanes of Yakima.
Bishop Cupich spoke at the Hispanic Youth Conference and presided at Mass that weekend.
Bishop Blase Cupich also presented for the gathering, and presided at Mass as well. Bishop Cupich and priests of the diocese involved in Hispanic ministry organized the event.
Father Alex Zepeda, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Othello, helps feed the youth.
Representatives of the Sisters of Providence and the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church helped with the event and offered vocation information.
Meals were prepared and provided by different parish groups from Walla Walla, including the Grupo de Oracion, Cursillos, Encuentro Matrimonial. and Knights of Columbus.
Over 200 young people from throughout the region attended the Hispanic Youth Congress last month in Walla Walla.
Among the priests participating were Fathers Alex Zepeda, Miguel Mejia, Pedro Bautista, Luta Nsubuga, José Hernandez, Dan Barnett, Tyler Smedley, Jeff Core, and Pat Kerst.
