Obituarythe Inland Register (From the June 10, 2010 edition of the Inland Register)
She was born July 20, 1916, in San Benedetto, Guar-ano, Italy. Teresa completed high school in San Benedetto. In 1938 she decided she wanted to meet her uncle, who lived in Spokane, and to visit the city where her father had worked for several years as a stone mason. She enrolled in high school again, this time at Holy Names Academy, receiving a certificate in 1941. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in 1941, making her vows in 1943 as Sister Marina Mary. She earned a B.A. in Education from Holy Names College and was awarded a teaching certificate, and for 50 years taught in Holy Names schools throughout the Northwest, including Spokane. Sister Teresa lived a very active retirement of service within her Religious community as community sacristan, preparing for celebrations and caring for the Chapel. She felt that it was a privilege that helped to keep her close to her God. Memorial gifts maybe made to the Sisters of the Holy Names Retirement Fund, W. 2911 Fort Wright Dr., Spokane, Wash. 99224.
