Two Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa with ties to the Spokane Diocese celebrate jubilees of profession this June.

Sister Jeanette Landuyt (right) will celebrate her 60th jubilee. A Mass will be held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound on Sunday, June 6, for her and 25 other Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters celebrating 60 years. Her Religious name was Sister Guinevere.

Sister Jeanette’s home parish is St. Thomas the Apostle, Peoria, in the Peoria Diocese. She is the daughter of the late Adolph and the late Dorothy (Peters) Landuyt. Sister Jeanette’s ministry has been dedicated to education.

She served as principal and teacher at St. John Vianney School, Spokane Valley, from 1976-79, and also minister in Minnesota, Illinois, Alabama, Wisconsin, and other areas in the United States.

She served the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation as director of personnel services for ministry, 1986-1988.

Sister Jeanette is currently living in community at the motherhouse.

Sister Marian McCarthy (left) will celebrate her 70th jubilee. A Mass will be held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound on Sunday, June 6, for her and eight other Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters celebrating 70 years.

Her Religious name was Sister Marie Julia.

Sister Marian’s home parish is St. Bartholomew, Chicago, in the Chicago Archdiocese.

Sister Marian’s ministry has been dedicated to education, both teaching and administration. Sister Marian served the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation as a member of the provincial team for the Northwest Province, 1968-1972.

In the Diocese of Spokane, Sister Marian ministered as the superintendent of schools for the diocese, 1974-1979. She has also ministered in Montana, California, Wisconsin, Colorado and other states.

Sister Marian is currently retired and living in Schaumburg, Ill.
