Bishop Skylstad has announced an additional assignment for a Walla Walla pastor.

Effective immediately, Father Pat Kerst is the diocese’s Directory of Continuing Education for Priests.

Father Kerst is pastor of St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi parishes in Walla Walla, where he has served since late June 2001.

He was ordained a priest May 23, 1990, after studying at Bishop White Seminary and St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.

He was named associate pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Pasco, after ordination. In August 1994 he became parochial vicar of the two parishes in Walla Walla where he now serves as pastor.

In 1996 Father Kerst became pastor of the parishes in Brewster and Twisp, before returning to Walla Walla as pastor in 2001.
