St. John Vianney Boy Scout earns Eagle rankthe Inland Register (From the Nov. 13, 2008 edition of the Inland Register)
Anthony M. Glatt, a member of Troop 431 sponsored by the Knight of Columbus at St. John Vianney Parish, Spokane Valley, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Anthony, the son of Dan and Debby Glatt, joins his father as a second-generation Eagle Scout. Anthony’s very ambitious project was inspired while on a mission service trip working with the Salesian order of St. John Bosco in Tijuana, Mexico. After seeing that the Salesians had a limited supply of sport trophies for their tournament, Anthony set out to collect trophies, sports equipment, and school supplies for the Salesian ministry. Anthony collected over 300 trophies, 200 pounds of school supplies, numerous items of sporting equipment, and over 400 textbooks for classes in English as a second language.
