Bishop William Skylstad offered a prayer and blessing (below) at the beginning of a ceremony Aug. 8 to honor King Cole (at the podium in the photo above) for Cole’s work for the betterment of Spokane, particularly by bringing the World’s Fair to the city in 1974. A bridge in Riverfront Park was named in honor of Cole, a long-time member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. (IR photos)
