The Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church, elected their Mother General and Consultors on May 18. Mother Kathryn Joseph is the first Mother General of the community. Sisters Marie de Lourdes and Maria Consuela were elected First and Second Consultors, respectively. The role of Consultor is to represent the needs of the community and to collaborate with the Mother General in the daily living of community life. The Sisters have spent the past year developing their constitutions, recently approved by Bishop Skylstad. Their primary charism is evangelization. This coming year they will have apostolates at Immaculate Heart Retreat Center and St. Charles School, both in Spokane.
