![]() Three Spokane students – Scott Morse (center), 5th grade at Spokane’s Assumption School; Caleb Potts (right), home-schooled; and Caitlyn Ewers (left), 8th grade at St. John Vianney School, Spokane Valley – had their essays chosen as State winners for the Daughters Of the American Revolution History Essay Contest for 2007-2008. The topic was “I Spy – Espionage During the American Revolution.” Students from 5th-8th grade were to imagine what it might have been like to have been a spy. Caleb and Caitlyn were winners in the Northwest Division; their essays have been sent for judging by the National DAR committee. (IR photo courtesy of Pat Ewers)
