Four third graders from Trinity School, Spokane, took part in the “Math is Cool” competition last month at Mt. Spokane High School. The catch: the third graders were competing in a fourth-grade contest. They beat one of the teams, and while they didn’t place, “they were very competitive,” said their teacher, Travis Howell. “Being only third graders at a fourth grade competition, they represented Trinity School very well.” From left: Don Nguyen, Ted Wilson, Amadi Alegria, and Nia Whitfield.
