Spokane’s Interfaith Council and Greenwood Memorial Terrace are co-sponsoring an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 27, at the “Lofty Cross of Inspiration” in Greenwood, 211 W. Government Way. Among those speaking will be Christy Barlow of Country Homes Christian; Rev. Nancy Goodwin, Millwood Presbyterian; Rev. Lauri Strait, Opportunity Christian; and Carol Williams, Mission Presbyterian. The service will include drama, Scripture, song, and poetry. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be holding their 41st bi-annual convention April 22-24 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel in Spokane Valley. For information about the convention, call (509) 489-7049.
St. Mary School, Spokane Valley, hosts its 33rd annual auction Saturday, April 16, at Mirabeau Park Hotel. Theme of this year’s event: “Treasures of the Rainbow.” Tickets are $35 per person. The silent auction begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the live auction. The school has an enrollment this year of 245, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The Kennewick Knights of Columbus will be presenting their first annual “It’s About Life” conference on Saturday, April 9, in the gymnasium of Tri-City Prep in Pasco. Registration and social begin at noon. Among those scheduled to speak are Austin Rose, president of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, and Dr. Sharon Quick, Washington State Coordinator for the American Academy of Medical Ethics. Registration is $30 per person; the VIP Reception is $20 per person; conference and reception together are $75 per couple. Youth discounts are available.
