Ordained to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Omaha, August 16, 1975.
Appointed July 7, 1998; ordained and installed as Bishop of Rapid City September 21, 1998
Appointed June 30, 2010; officially installed as Bishop of Spokane September 3, 2010

Seminary - North American College and Gregorian University, Rome S.T.B., 1974; M.A. in Theology, 1975
