Recently the “Math is Cool” state championship competition took place in Seattle. Invited to this event were the top 16 teams from the three state regions, including Cataldo School’s seventh and eighth grade teams. The eighth grade team took third place and the seventh grade team finished fourth. Cataldo was the only school from the Spokane area to place. The ranking reflects the school’s extracurricular math program and the students’ dedication. Eighth grade team members were Audrey Reuter, Tessa Anton, Matt Baker, Matt Gillum, and Griffin Burns; seventh graders were Sean Bassler, Winston Kiepe, Jack Slater and Hailey Schemmel.
