Over $590,000 in Bishop’s Dinner proceeds have been raised since 1980 in support of the programs of Catholic Charities Spokane. (IR photo from Catholic Charities)

On May 4, Catholic Charities will welcome guests to the Spokane Club for the 28th annual Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Charities.

The annual event raises funds for all 15 of Catholic Charities’ programs, including the House of Charity, St. Margaret Shelter, St. Anne Children and Family Center, the counseling programs, and many more.

Guests meet in the Cutter Room for a social hour that includes beverages and hors d’oeuvres, and to examine the items for the “Chair-ity” silent auction, consisting of work donated by generous area artists.

A six-course gourmet meal is then served in the Georgian room, after which the recipient of the Bishop’s Medal is announced. This honor goes each year to someone who has been a key contributor in helping Catholic Charities to live out the organization’s mission of serving the underprivileged.
