Two Spokane seminarians studying at Mount Angel Seminary, St. Benedict, Ore., were installed as candidates for Holy Orders during Mass Oct. 27, celebrated by Portland Archbishop John Vlazny. Luis Rivera (left) is in his third year of theology and Gus Ruiz is in his fourth year of theology. Representing the Diocese of Spokane at the Mass was Father Darrin Connall (center), Director of Seminarians for the diocese. Ruiz is scheduled to be ordained a deacon at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes on Dec. 21; Rivera is scheduled to be ordained a deacon at the Cathedral on July 7, 2006.
