St. Patrick School, Spokane, marked its 90th anniversary recently. As part of the celebration, the school bestowed its Distinguished Graduate award on Jesuit Father Anthony Via (right). Father Via graduated from the school in 1942, and from Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga University as well. He has directed GU’s Gonzaga in Florence program since 1980. The award highlights people who, as adults, have put into practice the ideals and values they learned in their Catholic elementary school. Presenting the award to Father Via was his nephew, Tony Via (left), another graduate of St. Patrick and a school parent as well. (IR photo from St. Patrick School, Spokane)
