POCATELLO And the three became one ... Catholic community, that is, when the
parishes of St. Joseph and St. Anthony of Pocatello and St. Paul of Chubbuck were merged to
become the Holy Spirit Catholic Community. The Community also includes St. John Catholic
Student Center Chapel in Pocatello. The decree was signed by Bishop Michael Driscoll June 4.
Father Joseph Muha is pastor of the Communitys 1,200 families. The three parishes have
combined a number of projects and services over the past several years, including their parish
bulletins and RCIA program. About eight years ago the school at St. Anthony became
interparochial, with all three parishes assuming some responsibility for it.
BOISE A new St. Vincent dePaul parish conference was organized at Our Lady of the
Rosary Parish in southeast Boise. Mike Lowe is the conference president. He is in the deacon
formation program and chose to develop the conference as part of his formation. The conference
received training from other area conferences and has started making calls on those in their
area who have requested assistance. The Boise Diocese now has six conferences and two store
conferences.

Archdiocese of Seattle
STEVENSON Thomas Nathe was ordained to the diaconate in the church where his
father, the late Richard Nathe, served over 20 years as a permanent deacon. The senior Deacon
Nathe, who died in 2002, also helped build St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, a project that
was completed in 1995. The younger Nathe, completing his priestly formation, learned in
childhood that service to others is one of the greatest calls God gives.
