Penn State professor to give inaugural Bellarmine Lectures at GU; addresses
anti-Catholicism, global Christianity

Dr. Philip Jenkins, Distinguished Professor of History and Religious Studies at
Pennsylvania State University, will give the inautural Bellarmine Lectures at Gonzaga
University later this month.
On Thursday, April 24, Dr. Jenkins will speak on “The New Anti-Catholicism: The Last
Acceptable Prejudice.” That lecture will be delivered in the Barbieri Court Room of Gonzaga
University Law School at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, April 26, Dr. Jenkins’ lecture is titled “The Next Christendom: The Coming
of GLobal Christianity.”
That lecture will take place at 4 p.m., also in the Barbieri Court Room of GU’s Law
School.
Both lectures are free and open to the public.
Dr. Jenkins is the author of numerous books. Both lectures are based on recent volumes
from Oxford University Press.
