Author to speak April 25 in Spokane

Father Donald Cozzens will speak on the

Father Donald Cozzens, author of two recent books analyzing the state of the Catholic
Church in the United States, will speak Friday, April 25, from 8-9:30 p.m. in the Spokane Room
of the COG on the Gonzaga University campus.
Father Cozzens’s talk, “Standing in the Fire: Laity and Priests Look to the Future,” is
co-sponsored by the diocese and Gonzaga’s “Catholicism for a New Millennium” series.
Father Cozzens is a former serminary rector. His two most recent books are titled
The Changing Face of Priesthood: A Reflection on the Priest’s Crisis of Soul, published
in 2000, and Sacred Silence: Denial and the Crisis in the Church.
The Changing Face of Priesthood took first place in the professional books category
of the Catholic Press Association’s annual awards, announced in May 2001.
